  15.                      PIPE ORGAN at 127 Db's
  16.  
  17. The Curtis Organ At Penn was built in 1926 for the Sesquicentennial
  18. Exposition, has 10,793 pipes and was fitted in 1988-89 with a full
  19. MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) Interface.  The organ
  20. can produce 127 Db's at 90 feet from the pipe lofts.  The lowest
  21. actual pitch it produces is 16HZ from a wooden pipe 37 feet long
  22. and 2.5 feet square.  The highest pitch is produced from a pipe
  23. about 1/4 inch long.  The whole organ weights about 200,000
  24. pounds..
