- Theodore Roosevelt. I believe he was 42 when he succeeded
- William McKinley after McKinley was assassinated, in 1901. John Kennedy
- was 43 when he was elected, which makes him the youngest person to
- win a presidential election, but Teddy actually was the youngest to ever
- hold the office. T.R. was subsequently elected to a full term in 1904,
- but he was 45 at the time.
