  24. I can honestly say that some fidonet boards can do that.  I know 
  25. that board that I am on, sends out mail to the gateway as soon 
  26. as I log off.  Then it's all up to the gateway how long it takes 
  27. to put it onto the internet.  As you say it's usually done 
  28. straight away.  As for imcoming mail, does your UUCP board poll 
  29. your hub, or does the hub call your board when it has mail for 
  30. it?  If a local Network is being used (such as MTLnet), then 
  31. since the calls are NOT long distance, it would be possible to 
  32. set up a board that polls the UUCP gateway every 1/2 hour.
