- There's been a tiny flurry of discussion about what constitutes erotica,
- essentially all of which has carried an undertone of disdain. I'm not
- here to argue about the literary merits of the genre. I do want, however,
- to say things.

- First, I think the best erotica/pornography (yes, I think the two are
- interchangeable) is seamless in that you don't notice a break between
- the 'sex part' and the 'literary part'. Anais Nin would be my recommen-
- dation for those wanting proof of this, particularly her diaries.

- Second, I think Madonna's book was hardly shocking. Go read
- alt.sex.bestiality for proof of this.
