  30. This is what most of us have gone throught our entire careers.  I have 
  31. been a tech writer for over 36 years and what you experience is typical
  32. many times.

  34. Sometimes, we are consulted by others and are considered an integral part
  35. of the team, but usually we come in at the last and have to meet unrealistic
  36. deadlines.  All we can do is try to do our best and hope that next time
  37. we get called in sooner.

  39. As one poster mentioned, go the one of the conferences and meet some
  40. of the others.  You will find many of us that have been there before.
