- No, the 2% floor does not apply to charitible contributions. (there
- are certain limits, but If you have never itemized charitible
- deductions before, don't worry about limits.)

- However, if all of your itemized deductions (state income taxes,
- charitible deductions, home mortgage interest, and certain others)
- do not exceed your standard deduction, you should take the standard
- deduction and not itemize.
