- If I remember correctly, didn't the Commissioner's office (yes, it did exist
- then :-) ruled that failure to challenge a bat before the pitch was a waiver.
- With the corked-bat accusations a few years ago things got a bit more difficult
- and rules were issued allowing a challenge system.
