- The thing that really bugged me is that I filled out a paper when my son
- started school that listed my husband first and his work number first and
- mine second. He was listed as the person to contact in case of an emergency
- (he's closer). They still call me first when he's sick. I appreciated being
- called but I'm always annoyed that they call me first.
- Why do they do that??? Just because I'm the Mom??? How discriminatory!
- By the way, my husband and I both share in the sick child nursing. When
- Dan had chicken pox, he missed four days of school, two with Mom, two with
- Dad. Alternating also helps me because instead of being out two days in a
- row, I was out every other day and didn't lose as much continuity.

- It definitely affects your career (and it really sucks that it has to be
- that way). There must be an answer somewhere.
