  11. Our ex-neighbours (we moved recently) have a daughter called Mattea. They
  12. said it is the feminine of Matthew, and they pronounce it Matty. I think
  13. another pronunciation would be Matt-ay-a. (Without being too critical,
  14. I think that Matt-ay-a is the "real" way to say it.) Until I saw it
  15. written I had always assumed her name to be Matilda, as they have a
  16. dutch background and I think Mathilde would be more common there, than
  17. Matilda is here, nowdays.
