- If you can, get the pediatrician to specify in the written orders
- for the baby that it should have nothing by mouth other than breast
- milk. If the nurses violate the doctor's written orders, see to it
- that they get reamed for it.

- By the way, it's a good idea to work out a separate neonatal plan
- (analogous to the birth plan) with the pediatrician. Items about the
- care of the baby are the pede's concern; it's worthless putting them in
- a plan for the OB.
