- Yes, some. Not all. Three friends of mine (three sisters in one family)
- refused on principle to take standardized tests, including the SATs. They
- also went to a school that didn't give out grades, only written reports.
- I only remember what happened with the oldest: only a few colleges would
- accept her application without the SATs. She ended up at Swarthmore. The
- colleges that allowed her to apply asked her to write an additional essay
- explaining her position on standardized testing and explaining why they
- should consider her without the SATs, which she was more than happy to write.
