- MR> I have only a few things to say about this subject. As a person who
- MR> attended a school for the blind and public school both I thank my
- MR> parents every day when I moved to Texas and went to public school. I
-
- I, too, went both to a residential school and the public school. I
- hated the residential school with a passion unmatched by anything in my
- life since. The problem was, by the time I got put in public school,
- the damage had been done, and I didn't fit in there either. I think
- public school mainstreaming can work, if the child has the support of
- his family and his teachers. If not, or if the child is by nature shy,
- it can be a disaster.
