- I think that the "pinwheel device" that you are talking about is a roto-ray.
- The roto-ray is a device which has three spotlights mounted on it which spins
- around in a circle. Each light has slightly different angle on it. It is a
- bit like a kojak light sideways with the reflectors pointing forward. SORTA
- If this is the roto-ray, the originals are very old and may be antiques, I have
- heard rumors that a company is now making a roto-ray clone, however I haven't
- heard or seen any info.
- If you think they have funny things mounted on the front, you should hear them.
- Many fire engines in the D.C. metro area are running GE Powercall sirens or
- modified PA200's, which sound nothing like the Wail, Yelp and Hi-Low we are
- used to. (The GE powercall hasn't been made for many years.)
