  21. I've been getting _Bay Area Consumer's Checkbook_ for a couple of years,
  22. and it's GREAT!  It alternates every other month between a magazine
  23. format and a bargain price sheet.  They run an annual table of auto
  24. shops, sorted by county and rated by customers.  Also extensive
  25. restaurant reviews.  The bargain sheet lists discount prices and locations
  26. for appliances etc.  I think it was $32/year, a bargain at twice the
  27. price.  It's a non-profit with no corporate influence (no ads), kind of
  28. a local Consumer Reports.  Your unidentified newspaper could have just
  29. caught on to it, or it could have new competition (real or phony).
