- I've been getting _Bay Area Consumer's Checkbook_ for a couple of years,
- and it's GREAT! It alternates every other month between a magazine
- format and a bargain price sheet. They run an annual table of auto
- shops, sorted by county and rated by customers. Also extensive
- restaurant reviews. The bargain sheet lists discount prices and locations
- for appliances etc. I think it was $32/year, a bargain at twice the
- price. It's a non-profit with no corporate influence (no ads), kind of
- a local Consumer Reports. Your unidentified newspaper could have just
- caught on to it, or it could have new competition (real or phony).
