- Burdines (a Fla dept store chain) once asked me to sign an unsigned
- credit card (I did). When I subsequently (ams purchase!) noticed the
- clerk very carefully comparing my new signature on the card with that on
- the reciept I remarked "of course they match". She then politely explained
- that they have to verify signatures on each transaction because they
- had a lot of fraud.
