- Yup. There was a danger that they would get their debt paid so the
- "turnpike authority" (a quasi-governmental agency not subject to direct
- legilslative oversight) suddenly discovered that they needed a $500M
- (yes, one half BILLION) bond issue for "maintaince". The governer (the
- only politicial I have really admired) is currently fighting them on
- that, though I don't know what the state of the battle is.
