  14. I just looked in the Sacramento phone book.  Franchise Tax Board
  15. also has an 800 number (800-852-5711) if you want to call them without
  16. the charge.  My guess is they are trying to collect deadbeat taxes...
  17. but who knows?  they may have a large refund for someone!  (Although
  18. in that case I wouldn't expect them to be very enthusiastic about it).
