- Announcement from the
- AMERICAN-ARAB ANTI-DISCRIMINATION COMMITTEE
-
- DEMONSTRATE
- at Israeli Embassy!
-
- On February 2, the Embassy of Israel is hosting a reception commemo-
- rating the work of Dr, Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr. Benjamin L.
- Hooks, Executive Director of the NAACP, and Judith Lichtman, Presi-
- dent of the Women's Legal Defense Fund, will be presented with the
- 1993 Civil Rights Award by none other than the government of Israel.
-
- In light of Israel's expulsion of over 400 Palestinians to a moun-
- taintop in southern Lebanon in the dead of winter, such a commemora-
- tion is not only inappropriate, but degrades the good name of Dr.
- King and the movement he led. Dr. King, one of this century's
- greatest human rights advocates, should not be associated with an
- apartheid regime like Israel. As South Africa's closest ally, Israel
- is in no position to commemorate the life of the great Dr. Martin
- Luther King, Jr.
-
- PROTEST ISRAEL'S HYPOCRISY IN
- COMMEMORATING MARTIN LUTHER KING DAY!
- Tuesday, February 2, beginning at 3:30 PM sharp
- In front of Israeli Embassy
- 3514 International Drive, N.W. (and Van Ness Road)
- (Van Ness Metro on Red Line)
