  21. GREENSBORO MARTYRS

  23. Thirteen years have passed since the Greensboro Massacre. In 
  24. broad daylight, the KKK/Nazi death squad drove up to a black 
  25. housing project in Greensboro, NC, where an anti-Klan rally was 
  26. gathering. With cool deliberation, the killers took their 
  27. weapons out of the trunk, aimed, fired, and drove off. Five 
  28. leftists, civil rights activists and union organizers lay dying 
  29. in pools of blood, others were wounded or maimed for life. These 
  30. were the opening shots, carried out under the Democratic Carter 
  31. administration, of the Reagan years' war on labor and blacks.

  33. Greensboro was a conspiracy of the fascists and their patrons in 
  34. the capitalist state. From the outset, the KKK and Nazis were 
  35. aided and abetted by the government, from the G-man who helped 
  36. train the killers and plot the assassinations to the "former" FBI 
  37. informer who rode shotgun in the motorcade of death and the 
  38. Greensboro cop who brought up the rear. Two successive all-white 
  39. juries acquitted the killers of all charges, affirming once 
  40. again the meaning of "justice" in this racist capitalist state.

  42. "Greensboro" --- the name cries out for justice, for vengeance. 
  43. When the liberals claim it was a "shootout" and say to ignore the 
  44. fascists, when the lynchers say they want to parade in their 
  45. white sheets in our neighborhoods, we remember Greensboro by 
  46. mobilizing to stop them. Immediately after the massacre, when the 
  47. fascists sought to march in black Detroit, we organized a 
  48. labor/black mobilization to stop them, as we have done from 
  49. Washington and Philadelphia to Chicago and San Francisco.

  51. We honor the Greensboro martyrs --- Cesar Cauce, Michael Nathan, 
  52. Bill Sampson, Sandi Smith, James Waller --- and rededicate 
  53. ourselves to the fight against fascist terror. The working class 
  54. in power, the third American revolution, will ensure there shall 
  55. be NO MORE GREENSBOROS!
