Regarding my bad experience at Performance, I should add to the
note that the salesman was not allowed to have a calculator the fact
that they performed all their financial calculations fast and loose off
the tops of their heads without getting trivial details like the pay-off
on my trade. They "estimated" the pay-off of my lease and worked all
their figures around that. We tried to get them to pick up the phone and
call the local dealer we had leased from for an exact payoff, but they
insisted they knew "The Formula" and came up with a figure. Then they
badmouthed the value of my trade and tried to sell me on an exorbitant
down payment and monthly payments to "get me out of it". (What pals!)

Oh by the way, I called this morning and got the REAL payoff figure...it
was about $3000.00 less than they "calculated".

I hear of others who have fared well at this dealer. Maybe it has a lot
to do with the day of the week, the salesman you get, the manager on
duty, the phase of the moon,...who knows?
