  11. It appears that Clinton's new cabinet has disavowed any knowledge of his
  12. "middle income tax cut" already (that didn't take long). Furthermore, they
  13. are going full blast on a national sales/VAT ("consumption") type tax.
  14. And since with such a tax you can't really soak/rob/pillage/rape the "rich"
  15. as effectively as you can with an income tax (it is not "progressive" enough),
  16. they are considering ELIMINATING income tax for folks making less than $25K,
  17. but leaving it IN PLACE for everyone else. My guess is if you make $50K or
  18. over, you will probably be paying as much OR MORE income tax as before, PLUS
  19. a very large "consumption" tax (hint: YOU are what is being consumed). And
  20. I'll just bet that they will cut every bit as much spending as they did in
  21. return for the LAST big tax hike (i.e. none at all). Business as usual.

  23. Furthermore, there is lots of talk that they will crank up the magic INFLATION
  24. monster used so effectively by Carter (he is responsible for about half the
  25. total devaluation of our currency in the last two decades) to pay off (well,
  26. to APPEAR to pay off) the deficit. Hear that sucking sound in the vicinity of
  27. your wallet? That's Slick Willy at work. Anyone willing to wager how long it
  28. will take before inflation is above 10% again?

  31. judicial business to their competitor. Oh damn, that's right - they HAVE
  32. no competitors. *Sigh*.
