- I know this isn't the best season for marching bands and parades, but
- maybe some net-wisdom is available about plans and schedules over the
- next few months -- even to the end of the year.
-
- My young son (2 1/2 yo) has taken a great fancy to marching bands.
- Drums, trumpets, bagpipes (!? 8-/!!), and flags waving are special favorites.
- Several months ago, we went to a high school marching band competition
- at Mount Vernon HS, Alexandria, and he just loved it. Same with the
- Scottish Walk parade last month. (Crowds deterred attendance at the
- Inaugural Parade, but he would have watched TV all day if there had
- been more "bagpipes" -- generically equal to "marching band".)
-
- Does anyone know when/where bands are performing and parades are scheduled
- in the Washington capitol region over the next few months? Particularly
- good is lots of stirring march music and manageable crowds.
-
- Thanks in advance. E-mail the answers. I'll post/mail a summary if anyone
- is interested.
-
- Sincerely,
- Fred Wyse
