  23. I disagree.  She is adequate, but far from superlative.  Surely in all
  24. DC there are much better hosts then Rehm?

  26. My specific complaints are:

  28. 1) Her logic is inconsistent.  When a listener takes a side she likes,
  29. she will not point out the flaws in the logic.  On sides she doesn't
  30. like, she will point out flaws.  If she can't think of any, she'll
  31. hang up on them.  She doesn't always do this, but she does it enough.
  32. It's impossible to call her objective.

  34. 2) She seems particularly insensitive to extreme views - while they
  35. may not work they are often worth analysis.  She rejects many things
  36. too quickly - without explaining why.

  38. 2) Her voice is irritating.  It sounds unnatural - very forced.  It
  39. also ranges in volume constantly.  In my car I try to balance the
  40. volume so that it is high enough to be heard over the traffic but low
  41. enough so that it doesn't hurt.  I have to constantly twiddle with the
  42. volume as the dialogue switches between her and her callers.  Perhaps
  43. the station engineers could fix this, but I never have this problem
  44. with their other hosts (this included Cuthbert, Fisk and all the guest
  45. hosts in between).
