- This is true. However most public stations across the nation
- ask you by mail what programs you listen to and enjoy. Not only
- do they do that, but they pay attention! Never in all my years
- of listening to radio have I heard a popular radio show jerked
- from the air in the way that LMD was.
-
- Some of the best radio on the air comes out of college stations.
- KCSM on the west coast used to broadcast new music and *new* sci-fi
- and other radio drama. WVTF, here in VA has repeater stations in
- several cities. It has wonderful music shows, including "Mountain
- Stage", a nationally distributed show produced in WV which features
- all types of music, from south of the Sahara to zydeco to the blues
- to folk.
-
- LMD introduced me to many musicians I had never heard of, and he
- also brought them on the air in interviews mixed with their music.
-
- What does WAMU decide it needs more of? Talk radio. I agree
- that Rheim needs a lesson in talk show manners.
