  21. WHAT'S NEW
  22.  
  23.      Version 100 of the VIRUSCAN series adds detection of 195 new
  24. viruses, bringing the total number of known viruses to 1,060, or
  25. counting variants, 1,756.
  26.  
  27.      Beginning with this release, we are using a new method for
  28. providing foreign language support.  The VIRUSCAN, NETSCAN, and
  29. CLEAN-UP programs now check for a foreign language file named
  30. MCAFEE.MSG in the same directory as the program and then display
  31. messages in that language instead of English.  Since foreign
  32. language support is now be handled outside of the programs, the
  33. /FR (French) and /SP (Spanish) language switches have been removed.
  34.  
  35.      Foreign language files are currently available in Bulgarian,
  36. Dutch, Finnish, French (European), German (Swiss), and Spanish
  37. (Latin America).  Other languages will be added as time and demand
  38. permits.

  40.      Please note that there have been two earlier releases of Version
  41. 100, Version 9.1V100 and Version 9.11V100 for the VIRUSCAN, NETSCAN
  42. and CLEAN-UP programs, and 5.2V100 for VSHIELD.  These versions were
  43. not released on the Internet.
  44.  
  45.      The OS/2 versions of VIRUSCAN, NETSCAN, and CLEAN-UP Version 100
  46. are still under testing and should be ready in a week or two.
  47.  
  48.      Congratulations to William S. McKiernan, president and COO of
  49. McAfee Associates, and his wife on the birth of, heh, twins.  Bill
  50. will no doubt be getting a lot less sleep in forthcoming months...
