- Is there anyone out there who has built a Unix box and could tell me
- about their experience.
-
- I have been thinking of building because I believe it is cheaper and
- more flexable than buying. I'm planning to use the GNU Hurd, when it
- eventually emerges, GNU applications/utilities and X with gwm.
-
- It seems that the easiest way would be using components intended for
- powerful DOS machines, since they are widely available. I'm curious if
- anyone, as an amateur, has constructed a box with a design different
- from the PC standard.
-
- My dream would be to use some Inmos Transputers but I think this would
- conflict with my goal of minimal cost!
-
- Any coments? (Email preferred - I'll summarise and post.)
