- Palladium does exist, and HP has been selling it as HP Openspool for at least
- the past year. When ordering our first Unix system, we took a look at the
- lp spooler and thought "What a joke!". Forms control? Ha. Paper jam
- recovery? Ha.
-
- Palladium/Openspool gives us these features and more. It offers centralized
- control of all network spooling. Extensive opportunities for user
- customization exist. Plus you even get lp command-set emulation. Or you can
- use the native command-line set, or a Motif GUI. The GUI is especially nice
- for spooler administration/configuration tasks.
-
- We're glad we went with it. Lp would have been rather unsuitable for a
- high-volume production environment.
