  19. I have seen this on 4.2a too: apparently the load av counter gets mixed
  20. up by an integral number every now and then; your "3.50" should
  21. probably be "0.50".  It usu fixes itself within a day or a half, or by
  22. a reboot :-(

  24. This - apart from annoy - is only a problem for daemons that use
  25. the load ave for some decision: sendmail, nntpd etc.

  27. Processes in resource-wait state (check with ps aux|grep D) also contribute
  28. to the load average; any hung tape drives around?
