  12. I can NFS mount an HP/UX 8.0.7 file system on some of my Ultrix 4.2c
  13. systems, but not others, and I can't figure out why.

  15. The error message I get is 
  16.     # mount rserver:/newdisk /newdisk
  17.     nfs_mount: rserver:/newdisk server not responding: 
  18.     RPC: Authentication error; why = Invalid client credential
  19.     nfs_mount: access denied for rserver:/newdisk
  20.  
  21. On the two client Ultrix systems: 
  22.     the inetd.conf, services, and hosts files are the same.
  23.     neither runs named.
  24.     each uses a default route instead of routed.
  25.     the system that works is on a different subnet HP,
  26.     the system that doesn't work is physically next to the HP and
  27.     on the same network.
  28.     each can nfs mount other Ultrix filesystems.

  30. On the HP server:
  31.     both clients are in the hosts file, there is no resolv.conf.
  32.     showmount -e shows
  33.         export list for rserver:
  34.         /newdisk            everyone
  35.     can mount filesystems from the Ultrix systems.

  37. I have no idea where to look next and would appreciate any solutions
  38. or possible ideas.  Thanks.
