- Greetings,
-
- I am having this very disturbing and puzzling problem on a Unix Sys V
- release 4.0.2.1 system. The machine has a Consensys Powerports/HD
- multi-port serial card in it. Recently I got a powerports message
- followed by a double fault and then a panic. Consensys sent me a new
- driver and their message doesn't come up anymore, but the rest of the
- messages still do. The messages are as follows:
-
- Double Fault
- tss386.t_link 0xE0001518
- tss386.t_esp0 0x000000E8
- tss386.t_ss0 0x08046000
- tss386.t_esp1 0x00000000
- tss386.t_ss1 0x00000000
- tss386.t_esp2 0x00000000
- tss386.t_cr3 0x00000000
- tss386.t_eip 0x00000000
- tss386.t_eflags 0xB51800E7
- tss386.t_eax 0xE0008969
- tss386.t_ecx 0xB6000807
- tss386.t_edx 0xE0008269
- tss386.t_ebx 0x00000000
-
- PANIC:
-
- Trying to dump 8127 pages..................................
-
- Reboot the system now.
-
- I did a little poking around and there is an include file call tss.h in
- /usr/include/sys, that has these flags identified.
-
- This seems to happen when about seven people log in and start doing stuff.
- The machine can sit idle all night and be fine in the morning until it starts
- being used. The configuration of the system is
-
- Intel 486/50 EISA with 32 MB of RAM
- AT&T SCSI card (DPT with an AT&T ROM) with 8.5 MB of SCSI cache
- Four SCSI hard disks (1 internal 3 external)
- Hayes Fax Board
- Adaptec SCSI card running a 8mm tape drive
- Powerports/HD multi-ports card (16 ports)
-
- If anyone can give me a hand and explaining this problem I would appreciate
- it greatly.
