- In SVR4 (UHC), I've noticed that the date format printed with ls -l
- prints "month day year" for previous years and "month day time" for
- current year files-- but files less than 6 months old print "month day time"
- still. This makes find -ctime think they are in the future,
- (because if the year is missing, it assumes the current year) causing
- backups (using find -ctime -nn) much bigger than they need to be.
-
- Why does find use the "ls" algorithm instead of "seconds since 1970" for
- relative date calculations?
-
- Apparently, there is no fix on the horizon from USL.
-
- If you have any work arounds other than "touching" everything, please Email
- or post. Thanks.
