- This is documented in the "Ex Reference Manual" by Joy and Horton. In
- Version 3.7 (which belongs to the 4.3 BSD) it reads in section 7
- (Command descriptions):

- Add the named abbreviation to the current list. When in input mode
- in visual, if word is typed as a complete word, it will be changed
- to rhs.
