- I access my university UNIX account from home using a 2400 baud
- modem, using the 'terminal' program supplied with Microsoft Windows (3.1).
- I seem to have trouble when I 'talk' with someone -- I connect, but all
- conversation (both mine and the party) appears on the screen vertically.
- In other words, "Hi Bob! How ya doin'?" would appear as:
-
- H
- i
-
- B
- o
- b
- !
-
- H
- o
- w
-
- y
- a
-
- d
- o
- i
- n
- '
- !
- ----------------------------------------------

-
- I always "setenv TERM vt100"; 'nn' (the news reader) works
- fine. Everything else seems to appear fine as well.
-
- How can I make the above output normal?
-
- [ I've only posted this query to this newsgroup ... should I post it
- on one of the ms-windows groups? ]
