  12. I grabbed a copy of the new patchkit (0.2) from my local 386bsd mirror
  13. (src.doc.ic.ac.uk), but have had some problems with it. Is it me or
  14. is it the patchkit?

  16. Here's what I did:
  17. (all as root)
  18. ftp'd new patchkit (file patchkit-0.2.tar.Z length 478731 date Jan 24 22:23)
  19. De-installed all patches from old kit (DALL)
  20. Moved old kit to /usr/oldpatch and deleted /patch link
  21. untarred new patch kit to /usr/patch
  22. ran bin/mkpatchdirs
  23. ran bin/patches
  24.     all the patches deearchived etc
  25. did an IALL
  26.     all patches sucessfully installed
  27. tried to deinstall patch00603
  28.     reported "required by patch00602" so
  29. tried to deinstall patch00602
  30.     succesfull
  31. tried to deinstall patch00603
  32.     reported "user has deleted file (?cant remember?) - can't deinstall"
  33. tried reinstalling patch00602
  34.     succesfull
  35. tried deinstalling patch00603 again
  36.     reported "required by patch00055"
  37.  
  38. It looks to me as though it might be regarding PREREQUISITE patches as
  39. DEPENDANT patches in deinstallation.

  41. Is this the case? Have I done something stupid? Has anyone else experienced
  42. problems?
