- Well, the ie device driver that I have written does precisely
- this---that's how it determines that the card is actually there! (It
- also reads a description register from the StarLAN cards as a
- preliminary determination. If anyone knows how the configuration
- parameters should differ between StarLAN and Ethernet, please let me
- know!)
