  12. Hi, 
  13.     On my 386bsd machine, nobody can su to root.  There is no
  14. password (confirmed by checking the password file a hundred times), yet
  15. it asks for one anyway.  I tried setting a password, but it would not
  16. accept it.  The /etc/group file is ok too.
  17. The only way to become root is from the login: prompt.  Then,
  18. no password is needed.  Obviously, this is a pain.  Does anybody know
  19. what is going on?  Thanks.
