  14. The next version of the patchkit is available from
  15. agate.berkeley.edu:/pub/incoming/nate/patchkit-0.2.tar.Z,

  17. until Chris moves it to:
  18. /pub/386BSD/386bsd-0.1/unofficial/patch-kit/patchkit-0.2.tar.Z

  20. where it will stay until the next person updates it.

  22. This version is a much stabler version than the old version (no
  23. fault of Terry's, but I've had way too much time to fix bugs :-)
  24.  
  25. Along with the patchkit is a copy of the installation disk (Tiny 386BSD)
  26. and fixit disks which contains the new fdbootblk patches for Gateway
  27. machines and  Compaq's and the new kernel with all of the new patches
  28. installed (expect the WD ethernet drivers ones).

  30. This version is a MUCH stabler version than 0.1, as that has been my
  31. goal for this version.  There are many bug-fixes that have not been
  32. incorporated into this version, but I think that all of those that
  33. have helped to maintain stability of the system.

  35. There is one patch that I didn't get into the kit, and will hopefully
  36. follow in a short time, which affects the stability, but I wanted this
  37. one "OUT THE DOOR" first.

  39. *********NOTE******** 
  40. To update to this version from the old patchkit (0.1), you will need to
  41. completely un-install all of the previous patches from the old kit, and
  42. remove the old patchkit from your hard-drive. (Or move it where it won't
  43. be found by the new program).  If you have made local changes, I'm
  44. sorry, but there wasn't an easy way to upgrade from the old version.

  46. Read all of the docs, and hopefully it will be a painless upgrade.
