  33.     You're banging you head against the wall. It took our lab 2 months
  34. to create a special IBM RS6K compatible firmware version for the OEM
  35. CD-ROM subsystems we sell into the RS6K/AIX environment. It wasn't easy
  36. by any means and it required making modifacations to the drive, not
  37. to AIX under SMIT as we would all really like.

  39.     We tried making "Weird Incantations" over the ODM database using 
  40. ODME but all we did is wrecked our system real good. IBM was really 
  41. crafty (or twisted) when they devised the ODM database for applying
  42. device recognition and support to a dynamic kernel. Not only does
  43. it keep people's noses out of their laundry basket it also manages
  44. to five their Service organizations a boost of business from time to time.
