  23. Following the successful Workshops on Distributed Algorithms
  24. in Ottawa (1985), Amsterdam (1987), Nice (1989), Bari (1990),
  25. Delphi (1991) and Haifa (1992), the Seventh Int. Workshop on 
  26. Distributed Algorithms will be held in Switzerland in 1993.
  27.  
  28.    The workshop covers the entire area of distributed algorithms. 
  29. It provides a forum for the presentation of new research results
  30. and the identification of future research directions in this area.
  31. The workshop will be held in Zinal (Valais), a village located in
  32. the Swiss Alps (alt. 1600 m / 5300 ft) at approximately 180 km
  33. from Geneva Airport (easily reached by train+bus).

  35.    Papers are solicited describing original results in all areas
  36. of distributed algorithms and their applications, including, but
  37. not restricted to:
  38.  
  39.   - Distributed algorithms for control and communication
  40.   - Fault-tolerant distributed algorithms
  41.   - Network protocols
  42.   - Algorithms for managing replicated data
  43.   - Protocols for real-time distributed systems
  44.   - Issues in asynchrony, synchrony and real-time
  45.   - Mechanisms for security in distributed systems
  46.   - Techniques for the design and analysis of distributed systems
  47.   - Distributed database techniques
  48.   - Distributed combinatorial and optimization algorithms
  49.   - Distributed graph algorithms
  50.  
  51.    Intended contributors are invited to submit 13 copies of an
  52. extended abstract or full paper to the Program Committee
  53. chair. Submissions must not exceed 15 pages with roughly 35
  54. lines/page. Submissions not conforming with these guidelines may
  55. not be considered. Please include a 150 word abstract, 5 keywords,
  56. and address, e-mail, fax/telephone number of the contact author.

  58.    Proceedings will be published in the series Lectures Notes in 
  59. Computer Science of Springer-Verlag. There is a limit of 15 pages 
  60. for a paper in the proceedings.
