  12. I have a paper I am trying to typeset in twocolumn mode using the twocolumn
  13. style.  In the paper, I have several tables which are too wide to fit in a
  14. single column while in twocolum mode.  However, LaTeX attempts to squeeze them
  15. in (with poor results).

  17. Is there a simple solution to getting wide tables formatted properly in a
  18. twocolum paper, or am I going to need to switch between one and two column
  19. mode?  Also, I'd prefer not to push the tables to the end of the paper.
