- This didn't seem to get off site, so I'm reposting.
-
- A friend of mine has a Tandy 1000 RL that fried it's power
- supply. Actually, it fried the first resister in from the
- AC power, which is where other power supplies that I have
- seen appear to have a fuse. I've tried to identify this
- resistor, but it is too charred to read off the values,
- although it looks like a 1/4 watt, and the first band is orange.
-
- I've tried calling local stores, but they want me
- to come in and order the service manual for $50. I went to
- one store, and they directed me to the "local" (about 40
- miles away) consumer service center. Calling the service
- center was no help: They directed me back to the store.
- I've called National parts (thanks to this group for the
- number, the stores wouldn't give it to me), but they said
- that the parts ID lady was about a week behind.
-
- Can anyone help here? Ideally, I'd like a schematic of
- the supply, but I'd settle for the resistor value.
- (Nobody that I talked to in Radio Shack was willing to
- fax or mail me a copy of the schematic unless I bought
- the entire 1000 RL manual). My friend and I would be
- VERY appreciative!
-
- Thanks,
