  12. This document is not meant to start a religous war on editors.  Its only 
  13. purpose is to bring to public knowledge the existence of an editor under 
  14. the UNIX platform which by its power and ease of use is worth considering.

  16. The editor is called CRISP. 
  17.  
  18. CRISP is compatible to BRIEF, the editor which has sold more in numbers 
  19. than every other editor combined under DOS. CRISP can do a true keystroke
  20. emulation of BRIEF. User's can run existing BRIEF macros, as well as use both 
  21. BRIEF/UNIX regular expressions.

  23. CRISP also has a VI emulation which passes the VI-turing machine macro test.
  24. It gives seasoned VI programmers, what they have always longed for:
  25. multi window / multi buffer environment, with full color/hilighting support.

  27. CRISP runs on various UNIX platforms and has a true X version with scrollbars,
  28. buttons etc, as well as a character version. The X version has both OPENLOOK 
  29. and a MOTIF implementation.
