- We are running Dynix/ptx 1.3.0 in an academic environment. None of our
- Computing courses feature a language as the main feature of the course, but
- several of them require that the student learn a specific language (like
- Pascal or Fortran in first year). We are using Sequent-supplied compilers
- for both of these languages. Our Computing instructors are finding that they
- are spending too much class and lab time explaining the use of the standard
- debugging tools (like pdbx), and most students (especially in first year)
- find it nearly impossible to work it out on their own. Is anyone aware of
- more intuitive debuggers that would be more suitable? I would also be
- interested in hearing of programming environment packages, where a
- compiler/editting facility/debugger where rolled into one package.
-
- Any suggestions will be appreciated.
