  12. I'm getting ready to get an EO - whenever they come out!
  13. The latest Byte has coverage which says about now, and I
  14. have a call into EO to find out for sure...
  15.  
  16. I am a software architect / designer, and want to use this
  17. as my key machine to do my job.

  19. What I want to know is what software we know is available
  20. or in the works for PenPoint / EO.  Here's what I will do with
  21. my EO:

  23. Words
  24.  - document creation
  25.  - conversion to / from word for windows format (company standard)
  26.  - spell checking
  27.  
  28. Drawings
  29.  - Object Oriented Analysis and Design drawings
  30.  - other less structured drawings (diagrams, slides)
  31.  - of course, mixed in with my words
  32.  
  33. Communications
  34.  - Email, via Internet dialup
  35.  - Email, via Eithernet Novel Lan Microsoft Mail v3
  36.  
  37. Reading
  38.  - reading word documents, emails...
  39.  
  40. Programming
  41.  - Smalltalk for PenPoint (sounds like a great idea!)
  42.  - A Dylan implementation, or CLOS or something like that?
  43.    [I'd use my MS-DOS machine for 'C' level work]

  45. Games
  46.  - I wonder what games would fit in well with the notebook
  47.    concept (open up a page and get an air traffic controller
  48.    game!, open another and get board games ...)

  50. It would be great if the OO programming env. would make use of all
  51. built in and installed classes (i.e. all installed software), as
  52. well as contribute user defined classes, and if the programming
  53. interface was well integrated with the document architecture ...

  55. I've seen the GO catalog (a bit old), and there seems to be just 
  56. a few apps out for Penpoint...  How about PD / shareware stuf?
  57. Or just usefull classes ...
