  17. Consumer-grade DAT decks equipped with SCMS will let the user
  18. record any original digital source.  SCMS will prevent the user
  19. from making a digital copy from the first copy.  The bad thing
  20. about SCMS is that it's indiscriminant and can't tell a CD from
  21. an original source.
