  30. One of the advantages of compression is that it saves
  31. connect time, which is something many people have to pay for
  32. in hard currency.  In many cases it also saves bandwidth.
  33. For small files, these savings are not very significant,
  34. probably, but for big transfers (large files or whole
  35. directories) the savings can be pretty impressive.
