- That's not the way it works. When you double click on the package, it
- opens up in Installer. One of the options available there is to list the
- contents of the package.

- There are several advantages to using packages:

- 1. If the package contains many files scattered all over the place, there
- are no messy installation scripts to be executed or vague README files
- which need to be digested. The click of a button does it all for you.

- 2. A means for removing the package from your system or, if you just need
- a little space for a while, compressing the package is automatically
- provided.

- I agree whole-heartedly on this issue. I think the person installing the
- package should have an option of where to place the receipt for a package.
- This would certainly be convenient in a network environment where software
- can either be installed on a single machine or provided to the whole
- network.
