  14. Really looks like Steve is going to have to dump the hardware business
  15. to keep NeXT and NeXTStep going.  With deals in the works with Compaq,
  16. HP, etc. It looks like NeXT will be a software company by the end of the year.
  17. But of course, software is where all the value/money is!

  19. What a strange industry this has become:
  20. - IBM predicts 60% of it's revenue will soon come from software & services.
  21. - Wang is dropping hardware and focusing on software & services.
  22. - NeXT is dropping hardware to become an operating system company.
  23.  
  24. NeXTStep/Mach should be good competition for NT.  Esp. if Compaq ships it
  25. on their 486 PCs.
