- Having amicably resolved the issue of putting other scsi disks into the
- 3450 I now have a question. If I do so the hardware will still be supported
- by the NCR dealer here, however what is the position regarding software
- support. Will NCR in the US refuse to look at any dumps as there is
- now non approved disks in the computer.

- This is a major concern to us as the uptime of the system is less than
- desirable. Currently it is measured in days, no failure since last
- Friday, however before the last patches we were measuring uptime in hours.
- The failures are system hangs which do not normally dump and are non
- reproducable. As the university is on holiday and there is no load on the
- system until 16/2 we caanot afford to be without software support.
