- Hi everyone,
-
- Do you remember the Sinclair ZX81 ? The second micro from Sir Clive ?
- Well I got hold of one last week for fun (it was my first micro 10 years
- ago..) and in one evening I replaced the 1KB RAM chip for a 32KB one.
- I plan to make an EPROM programmer board soon. Why use such an outdated
- machine ? Because it's so easy to add hardware, and so easy to program!
- Besides, I'm still amazed they managed to squeeze a BASIC interpreter
- into 8KB...
- Anyway, I'd be interested if anyone else out there is still using one,
- and if not, whether they have any old circuit descriptions, machine code
- programs or books. Here's your chance to get rid of that old stuff!
- I've got the ZX81 manual and one or two other books. I think I'll add
- an RS232 interface to save programs to my PC...
- Please let me know if you share the same interest... or do I have the
- oldest micro hardware around ? These computers might be worth something
- one day, you know :-) .
-
- Cheers,
-
- Marvin.
